Maralys Wills (author
of 12 books and writing teacher for 22 years) appeared before an
enthusiastic group of writers to speak on ''Turning Your Real Life
Story Into a Book." After publishing three memoirs herself,
Wills helped answer questions such as: Why would I start the book
at the climax-and give everything away? How do I handle my villains?
Should the story be my whole life-or only part of it? Wills discussed
these issues and more. In addition, she provided handouts to help
authors organize their own work. She also brought copies of her three
memoirs, plus her writing book, "Damn the Rejections, Full Speed
