The Art of Adding Mythic The Greater Los Angeles Writers Society is a non-profit organization that provides a forum for writers of all disciplines to meet and discuss the craft and the business of writing. GLAWS accomplishes this through monthly meetings, discussion forums, critique groups, special writer appearances, conferences, and other events conducted for the purpose of educating and mentoring writers of all levels of expertise. Swelstad, Associate Professor and Department
Chair of Media Arts, joined the Media Arts Department in 2001. Eric
has a BA and Master’s Degree from The Ohio State University, and
has also guest-lectured in the Cinema/Screenwriting Departments at UCLA,
California State University, Northridge, and Emerson College.
A screenwriter and director, Eric has worked for such companies as HBO, Paramount Pictures, and Big Picture Entertainment. A movie-of-the-week he directed was nominated for an Emmy, and he has won two Telly Awards for his work in television. His teen-comedy feature “Scooter Kidz,” and the supernatural film “Heartland of Darkness” have aired on cable, and most recently he directed the high-definition feature, “Frankenstein Rising.” A member of the Writer’s Guild of America, West, Eric co-wrote the MGM feature “Lucky 13,” and the upcoming thriller “Four Horsemen.”
She spent 18 years on the research staff of the quiz show JEOPARDY! She as published a range of writings, from literary scholarship to comic book short stories. She was also the Chair of the Mythcon 40 Convention held at UCLA in 2009. http://www.scribblersguidetomyth.com/
Her clients include best selling Wiccan author Edain McCoy and award-winning novelists Andrew Fox and Weston Ochse along with many others. A published author herself, Denise’s latest book, Be Blesséd: Daily Devotions for Busy Wiccans and Pagans, is her second book for New Page Publications.
